About the role
The Marketing and Communications (MarCom) Specialist reports to the Director of Communications at the Tulane University A. B. Freeman School of Business. This role creates compelling written and editorial content for various Freeman channels, including alumni stories, class notes, faculty and student coverage pieces, admissions copy, and communications. The specialist assists with the Freeman Business magazine and Freeman News story compilation and production, implements marketing strategies to promote Freeman’s programs, events, and initiatives across platforms, and supports administrative duties such as invoice and PO processing, payment management, and campus marketing collaborations.
Responsibilities
- Write and edit alumni stories, class notes, and coverage pieces featuring faculty and students.
- Develop admissions copy and communications materials.
- Assist in compiling and producing content for the Freeman Business magazine and Freeman News.
- Implement marketing strategies to promote Freeman’s programs, events, and initiatives through various platforms.
- Manage administrative tasks, including invoice and purchase order processing, payment management, and ordering products or professional services.
- Coordinate campus marketing and advertising efforts with other schools.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in English, marketing, communications, journalism, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of demonstrated relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong understanding of administrative marketing duties, budget management, and vendor payment processes.
- Recent marketing and communications experience in higher education or a non-profit organization similar to higher education.
