Marketing and Communications Specialist
About the role
ChamblissChambliss is a full-service corporate law firm serving local, regional, national, and international clients. Our marketing team plays a critical role in supporting the firm's strategic growth through branding, communications, digital marketing, and business development. The Marketing & Communications Specialist reports to the Marketing Manager and supports marketing initiatives across all practice areas and industries. This is a hands-on position for someone who enjoys writing, digital marketing, event planning, graphic design, and project management — and who thrives in a fast-paced, professional environment.
You'll help shape the firm's brand through engaging content, digital campaigns, business development initiatives, and client events while working alongside attorneys and firm leadership.
Responsibilities
Content & Communications
- Create, edit, and proofread high-quality marketing content, including website copy, client alerts, newsletters, blog posts, attorney biographies, capabilities decks, press releases, speaking materials, marketing collateral, and thought leadership content.
- Ensure all communications align with the firm's brand standards, voice, and AP style guidelines.
- Collaborate with attorneys and internal stakeholders to identify and develop content that supports strategic marketing initiatives.
Digital Marketing
- Manage the firm's social media presence, including content development, graphic design, scheduling, publishing, and performance tracking across LinkedIn and Facebook.
- Monitor social media analytics and provide recommendations to improve engagement and reach.
- Create branded graphics and visual content using design tools such as Canva and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Coordinate email marketing campaigns and editorial calendars using marketing technology platforms.
- Maintain and update website content through the firm's CMS while supporting ongoing SEO, quality assurance, user experience improvements, and website analytics.
Events & Community Engagement
- Coordinate seminars, webinars, client events, sponsorships, speaking engagements, and networking opportunities from planning through execution.
- Support events that occur outside normal business hours.
- Coordinate sponsorship logistics, including fielding sponsorship requests, tracking payments, managing deadlines, fulfilling sponsorship benefits, and maintaining relationships with community organizations.
- Build and maintain relationships with community organizations, vendors, and strategic partners.
Creative & Brand Support
- Design and update marketing collateral, presentations, digital graphics, and promotional materials.
- Coordinate with vendors on print, promotional products, and branded materials.
- Contribute ideas that enhance the firm's visibility, brand awareness, and overall marketing effectiveness.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Business, or a related field.
- Three to five years of experience in marketing, communications, public relations, journalism, business development, or a related role. Experience in a law firm, professional services firm, or other highly regulated industry is preferred but not required.
- Experience managing website content, SEO, and digital marketing initiatives.
- Experience updating and maintaining websites using WordPress or a similar content management system (CMS).
- Familiarity with CRM platforms, CMS platforms, email marketing systems, and Google Analytics.
- Portfolio of writing and design work required.
Skills & Competencies
- Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with strong attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and design platforms such as Canva and Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign and Photoshop).
- Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams.
- Adaptable, resourceful, and eager to learn new technologies and marketing best practices.
