MARKETING ANALYST / EMERGENCY APPOINTMENT HOMELESSNESS

LA County is hiring emergency Marketing Analysts to support the Board of Supervisors’ declared local state of emergency for homelessness. Under the emergency order, applicants who meet the requirements may be hired for an initial period of up to 90 days, with an opportunity for permanent County employment based on a 100%-weighted performance assessment during that period.

Responsibilities

  • Negotiates or assists in negotiations with marketing sponsors regarding sponsorship, donations, and licensing of intellectual property.
  • Prepares or assists in preparing marketing data for negotiations, financial consideration, and program implementation.
  • Develops and prepares promotional materials for recruiting sponsorship agreements.
  • Coordinates or assists in coordinating the implementation of marketing programs.
  • Analyzes or assists in analyzing new marketing programs to determine their appropriateness for the department and recommends programs within County marketing guidelines and standards.
  • Drafts or assists in drafting recommendations to the Board of Supervisors, governmental agencies, and officials.
  • Prepares or assists in preparing award, grant, and loan applications.
  • Monitors marketing programs to determine contract compliance.
  • Plans, manages, and executes assigned duties within larger, complex County marketing projects as needed.

Requirements

You must meet one of the following options to qualify:

  • Option I: One year of experience in a public agency* assisting in the negotiation and implementation of marketing programs.
  • Option II: Two years of experience in private-sector marketing negotiating and implementing marketing projects.

A Master’s degree in Marketing from an accredited college may substitute for six months of the required public or private-sector experience.

Public agency is defined as the government of the United States, any U.S. agency, or any state, county, city, or school district government.

To receive credit for education, submit a legible copy of your official diploma, transcript, or certificate from an accredited institution (in English or with a certified translation) to HRExams@ph.lacounty.gov within seven calendar days of filing your application. International degrees must be evaluated for U.S. equivalency.

Additional Requirements

  • A valid California Class C Driver License or the ability to use alternative transportation for job-related essential functions.
  • Physical ability to perform light administrative and clerical duties, including occasional light lifting up to 10 pounds, bending, stooping, or squatting, with considerable ambulation.
