About the role

The Market Research Associate serves as the day-to-day market research resource for an assigned local leasing team, working directly with brokers to identify where clients should pursue space, expand, or steer clear of based on current market conditions. Reporting to the Director, Market Research, this role owns the data collection, reporting, and CoStar administration that keep the leasing team's market view current and accurate. The Associate meets regularly with brokers to discuss active assignments and translates market data into materials that support client conversations, pitches, and proposals.

Responsibilities

  • Meet regularly with the assigned leasing team to discuss active assignments, client needs, and market research priorities.
  • Collect and verify commercial real estate information from CoStar, public records, and other reputable sources.
  • Build and maintain in-house databases of property availabilities, lease and sale comparables, tenant activity, and ownership information.
  • Write and publish periodic market condition reports for internal use and client-facing distribution.
  • Update and maintain CoStar listings for the assigned portfolio of properties.
  • Prepare custom market comparison packages, tour books, and supporting materials for broker opinions of value.
  • Track and report on new-to-market tenants, upcoming lease expirations, and competitive leasing activity.
  • Support the preparation of proposal and pitch materials for new business opportunities.
  • Attend market events, broker tours, and industry association meetings to expand market knowledge and professional relationships.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Real Estate, Economics, or a related field.
  • 1–3 years of related commercial real estate research and analysis experience.
  • Proficiency with CoStar preferred.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, with strong Word and PowerPoint capability; familiarity with InDesign a plus.
  • Strong analytical and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and manage competing broker requests under deadline.
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Physical Requirements

  • Primarily an office-based role requiring prolonged periods of sitting and computer use.
  • Minimal travel required within the assigned market.

Schedule

This position is 100% in-office. The role requires working in office during standard business hours. Remote work or telecommuting is not an option for this position.

Pay

Pay Range $70,000 - $73,000 USD
