Market Manager and Community Engagement Coordinator

Operating since 2009, the Western Wake Farmers Market is a non-profit market located in Morrisville, NC. The market connects the community with local food producers, offering fresh local foods, seasonal festivals, live music, and artisan crafts every Saturday year round.

About the role

Lead all Saturday market operations, including setup, breakdown, volunteers, themed nutrition events, booth assignments, and the Information Tent. Serve as the primary liaison between vendors, customers, volunteers, Town staff, community partners, and the Board.

Responsibilities

• Manage SNAP/EBT, Double Bucks, Senior Bucks, and Produce 2 Pantry programs and reporting
• Recruit vendors and coordinate applications, inspections, and weekly communications
• Manage newsletters, website updates, social media, musicians, and special events
• Maintain market records, prepare Board reports, and support strategic initiatives

Requirements

• Passion for local agriculture
• Friendly and engaging personality
• Ability to work independently
• Experience with bookkeeping, cash handling, and common office software
• Ability to lift 25 pounds
• Reliable transportation
• Availability Saturday mornings

Pay

Minimum $18 per hour
