About the role
Responsible for efficiently managing the day-to-day activities of all warehousing and distribution functions. Perform all jobs safely, efficiently and accurately to maintain and improve the performance of the entire plant in the areas of Safety, Quality, Reliability (SQR) and our Customer 1st strategy. Provide leadership that embodies our 7 Kroger Manufacturing High Performance Work System principles. Demonstrate the company’s core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety.
Responsibilities
- Ordering and managing all raw materials
- Managing receiving, shipping, handling, distribution, and storage of all freight, product, and supplies
- Ensuring all orders are shipped in a timely manner in adherence to delivery schedules
- Communicating all delays or variances in inbound/outbound freight to the appropriate parties
- Maintaining strict control over inventory levels to meet internal and external customer demand
- Planning and maintaining warehouse layout and space requirements to prevent loss or damage and achieve full warehouse optimization
- Investigating causes of lost or damaged shipments and other matters; making adjustments where necessary
- Auditing the need for, and arranging the purchase of moving equipment like trailers, forklifts and dollies, and maintaining maintenance of power industrial fleet
- Implementing and monitoring performance metrics for shipping and receiving
- Following established programs, policies and practices to produce safe quality foods that meet regulatory and company requirements
- Supporting the development, implementation, maintenance, and ongoing improvement of the SQF Systems
- Accountable to the Kroger Manufacturing Food Safety and Quality Principles
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management or related field
- Strong oral/written communication skills; ability to communicate to associates, customers and vendors
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Strong knowledge of warehouse documentation
- Excellent planning and resource allocation skills
Qualifications
- Previous work experience in a warehouse management function or supply chain management position
- Leadership position in food manufacturing
