Troubleshooting and Responsibilities

Troubleshoot test hardware and software issues to support manufacturing needs.
Design, build, and document novel test systems including test racks, ground support equipment, and wire harnesses.
Author code that meets Amazon's high bar.

Development Work

Develop automation strategies and implement error-proofing measures that increase test stability and system resiliency.
Drive efficiency improvements through tooling, automation, and design or process changes.

Day-to-Day Activities

40% on the shop floor, working with manufacturing engineers to troubleshoot test system issues and unblock production.
40% independent development work improving on existing test systems, developing novel test equipment, or creating detailed design and maintenance documentation.
20% meeting settings, collaborating with others on topics such as new design introductions, production process change management, production solution finding reviews, etc.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or above in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent
  • 4+ years working as a test engineer or equivalent experience
  • Intermediate scripting experience in a high-level programming language such as Python
  • Experience building test automation frameworks and tools
  • Experience developing test strategies and plans for complex hardware/software systems or systems of systems

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in component selection and understanding of component reliability
  • Intermediate wire harness fabrication and troubleshooting
  • Experience with testing space hardware
  • Experience with schematic and layout ECAD tools

Export Control Requirement

Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
