About the role
The MFG Technician III will play a crucial role in the full-scale production of Leo satellites, contributing to the success of Amazon’s low Earth orbit satellite broadband network. The role involves assembling and testing LRUs, electrical-mechanical assemblies, avionics, and other complex aerospace builds, participating in process improvements, and maintaining floor stock inventory.
Responsibilities
- Follow work instructions and safety procedures
- Assemble and test with emphasis to detail, an assortment of LRUs, electrical-mechanical assemblies, avionics, or other complex aerospace builds
- Participate in process improvements, maintain floor stock inventory
- Execute test procedures for component and system level testing maintenance
- Champion safety requirements in all designated zones and work locations
- Ensure lab equipment is maintained and calibrated
- Supports some preventative maintenance activities on test equipment and data acquisition systems
- Receive shipments and coordinate deliveries with recipients (Using pallet jacks, kit carts, etc)
Requirements
- Candidates must be 18 years or older with the ability to understand and adhere to all job requirements and safety guidelines
- The starting pay for this role in Washington State is up to $38.50/hour and employees are eligible for incremental raises based on tenure
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 3+ years experience in mechanical or electrical hardware assembly, test, and/or installation
- Experience in the aerospace industry, automotive industry, medical device industry, aviation, military or other high-reliability operating / manufacturing environment
Skills
- Experience with environmental testing - vibration, shock, thermal, EMI/EMC, etc.
- Experience conducting structural, mechanical or electrical systems integration testing
- Demonstrated ability to follow electromechanical test requirements
- Experience working with FOD, ESD sensitive hardware and clean room requirements
- Experience with forklifts, cranes and heavy equipment (including previous certifications)
- A demonstrated ability in reading/understanding technical drawings, work instructions and standard operating procedures
- Knowledge of electrical, optical and mechanical systems, antennas, functional testing and/or satellite components
