Manufacturing Technician I

Position Responsibilities

• Handles a wide variety of situations, including: Production of armor parts to meet schedule deadlines
• Operating, troubleshooting and repairing equipment used in the production process
• Ensuring quality guidelines are followed as well as creating and maintaining any necessary records for the quality control process
• Following all safety procedures
• Maintaining knowledge and understanding of materials used and production equipment and processes
• Packaging material for shipment, and helping with loading and unloading of incoming and outgoing deliveries
• Cleaning the production and mechanical work areas
• Assisting in the installation of new equipment and occasional light construction

Education And Experience

• Experience in a manufacturing environment with demonstrated mechanical skills is a plus
• Experience with quality control/inspection and/or documentation is a plus

• Demonstrated attention to detail
• Ability to understand and resolve technical or mechanical difficulties
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions
• Ability to observe proper safety precautions
• Ability to drive and/or operate a variety of equipment
• Forklift certified or ability to obtain forklift certification and operate in a safe manner
• Manage multiple priorities in a production setting and to easily adapt to changing situations while working effectively to meet deadlines
• Strong problem solving skills and the ability to effectively solve problems both individually and collaboratively
• Establish effective working relationships with other employees and supervisors
• Must possess integrity, sound judgment, initiative and a sense of urgency
• Must be able to work various shifts (including days, evenings, nights and weekends) to meet business needs

Physical Demands

• Frequent lifting and/or moving of up to 40 pounds
• Regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls, and reach with hands and arms
• Frequently required to stand, talk and hear
• Occasionally required to walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and smell

• Exposure to shop elements such as noise, dust, odors, fumes, or oils
