Position Responsibilities
- Handles a wide variety of situations, including: Production of armor parts to meet schedule deadlines
- Operating, troubleshooting and repairing equipment used in the production process
- Ensuring quality guidelines are followed as well as creating and maintaining any necessary records for the quality control process
- Following all safety procedures
- Maintaining knowledge and understanding of materials used and production equipment and processes
- Packaging material for shipment, and helping with loading and unloading of incoming and outgoing deliveries
- Cleaning the production and mechanical work areas
- Assisting in the installation of new equipment and occasional light construction
Education And Experience
- Experience in a manufacturing environment with demonstrated mechanical skills is a plus
- Experience with quality control/inspection and/or documentation is a plus
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
- Demonstrated attention to detail
- Ability to understand and resolve technical or mechanical difficulties
- Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions
- Ability to observe proper safety precautions
- Ability to drive and/or operate a variety of equipment
- Forklift certified or ability to obtain forklift certification and operate in a safe manner
- Manage multiple priorities in a production setting and to easily adapt to changing situations while working effectively to meet deadlines
- Strong problem solving skills and the ability to effectively solve problems both individually and collaboratively
- Establish effective working relationships with other employees and supervisors
- Must possess integrity, sound judgment, initiative and a sense of urgency
- Must be able to work various shifts (including days, evenings, nights and weekends) to meet business needs
Physical Demands
- Frequent lifting and/or moving of up to 40 pounds
- Regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls, and reach with hands and arms
- Frequently required to stand, talk and hear
- Occasionally required to walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and smell
