About the role

The Manufacturing Technician reports to the Sr. Manufacturing Manager and is responsible for assembling and testing microfluidic subassemblies, performing inspections and tests, troubleshooting, and supporting shipping and receiving activities.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble and test a variety of microfluidic subassemblies with high precision
  • Work in a clean lab environment following safety protocols
  • Perform inspection and testing using custom processes, tools, and measurement equipment
  • Troubleshoot issues using custom equipment and measurement technologies
  • Read and interpret technical documents, including drawings, operating instructions, and procedures
  • Create technical work instructions and other manufacturing related documentation
  • Support shipping, receiving, and inventory management activities, including material handling and order fulfillment
  • Adapt to changing production schedules and priorities based on business needs
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean Manufacturing practices
  • Use standard office equipment and systems to support documentation and operational tasks
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment

Requirements

  • 3 - 5 years of experience working with complex assemblies requiring high levels of dexterity and visual acuity, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience working in cleanrooms, laminar flow hoods, and clean manufacturing environments
  • Experience working in a warehouse and/or shipping/receiving department
  • Highly detail oriented with a focus on quality
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to lift 25 lbs and perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, standing, and twisting
  • Able to sit/stand for prolonged periods of the day while working on different products
  • Able to work independently with limited direction while collaborating effectively with a team

Qualifications and Experience

  • Associate degree in Manufacturing, Engineering or Technology related fields or equivalent experience, preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent, required

Physical Requirements

  • Able to lift 25 lbs
  • Able to perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, standing, and twisting in performance of tasks
  • Ability to sit/stand for prolonged periods of the day while working on different products
  • Work in a lab environment using standard personal protective equipment (PPE), including lab coat, gloves, and eye protection when working with adhesives or chemicals
  • Dexterity to work with small components requiring small, precise alignment
