Manufacturing Supervisor* (7 days on 7 days off Rotating Days/Midnights) - Cottage Grove, MN

Responsibilities
- Tap into curiosity and collaborate with innovative people.
- Guide activities and personnel in the safe handling and disposal of hazardous waste.
- Cultivate and lead a team by encouraging and implementing cross-training activities, cooperation, innovation, flexibility, and teamwork.
- Schedule work priorities, coordinate maintenance activities, allocate work assignments, communicate expectations, and monitor workflow.
- Provide coaching and feedback to employees and utilize corrective action to resolve conflict and inappropriate behaviors.
- Train employees on all aspects of Cottage Grove operations and processes.
- Ensure a safe work environment by reviewing production processes, OSHA requirements, and recognizing and resolving safety-related problems.
- Ensure employees receive training as specified and maintain certification and training requirements.
- Communicate effectively with employees through crew meetings, electronic mail, and 1:1 coaching sessions.
- Complete housekeeping audits and job safety analysis on a regular basis.
- Utilize available resources to resolve process, maintenance, equipment, and related technical problems.
- Maintain safe operating limits and analyze and interpret statistical data and charts to identify trends and determine improvement plans.
- Communicate and follow-up on safety, productivity, quality, and maintenance concerns with appropriate staff.
- Generate work requests and enter incident reports in accordance with established procedures.
- Implement advanced working knowledge and interpretation of corporate and site policies and procedures.
- Ensure shift administrative activities such as time reporting, attendance control, vacation planning, overtime, etc. are properly implemented and documented.
- Participate in assigned team functions and projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution and a minimum of two (2) years of combined experience working in a manufacturing or production environment in a private, public, government, or military setting.
- OR High School diploma/GED or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution and a minimum of four (4) years of combined experience working in a manufacturing or production environment in a private, public, government, or military setting.
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution.
- Previous supervisory experience.
- Experience in one or more of the following: project leadership, team leadership, supervisory, and/or management.
- Self-directed and detail-oriented.
- Good interpersonal, communication, prioritization, organizational skills, and computer skills.
- Create, lead, and work in a team atmosphere.
- Communicate written and verbally clearly and concisely and influence changes with operators as well as other plant employees and management team members.
- Identify and resolve process issues.
- Use of continuous improvement methodologies (e.g. Lean Six Sigma) to provide impact through cost reduction programs, quality improvements, and safety of work environments.
Qualifications
- Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
Skills
- Understanding of DOT and Hazardous Material Regulations.
- Active participation in site Emergency E-squad activities.
Benefits
The expected compensation range for this position is $95,591 - $116,834, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience. In addition, this position may be eligible for a range of benefits (e.g., Medical, Dental & Vision, Health Savings Accounts, Health Care & Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts, Disability Benefits, Life Insurance, Voluntary Benefits, Paid Absences and Retirement Benefits, etc.).
