Hi-Tek Manufacturing is searching for an experienced 2nd shift Manufacturing Supervisor to develop as a machining leader in the aerospace/turbine industry. Reporting to the Operations Manager, this role will assist in building a culture of excellence, teamwork, and growth.

About the role

The 2nd shift Manufacturing Supervisor directs and coordinates production, scheduling for 1st shift, and leads Team Leads, Set-up Techs, Operators, Machinists, and other employees. The position ensures production quality and safety standards, collaborates with engineers and the safety/training coordinator, and drives performance through planning, coordination, and evaluation of team activities.

Responsibilities

  • Direct employees regarding production volume, cost, quality, schedules, and delivery dates.
  • Meet and exceed production quality and quantity standards.
  • Create high-performing teams and a collaborative environment to improve job satisfaction and retention.
  • Influence team members to achieve desired outcomes by setting an example and sharing knowledge.
  • Develop thorough knowledge of all processes and equipment; report and resolve issues.
  • Lead teams to troubleshoot daily production issues, solve long-term problems, and improve processes.
  • Coach employees through feedback, mentoring, and disciplinary action when appropriate.
  • Excel in ambiguous and stressful scenarios, remaining flexible and vigilant.
  • Assist with New Product Introduction and Product Development projects.
  • Maintain responsibility for processes, equipment, employees, safety, and housekeeping.
  • Ensure communication of policies, regulations, and procedures between management and employees.
  • Take ownership of goals and explore opportunities to add value.
  • Perform under AS9100 quality standards and NADCAP accreditation.

Requirements

  • 7+ years in manufacturing, including 2+ years in a manager-level position directing operations to meet production throughput and quality goals.
  • 5+ years of CNC machining experience preferred.
  • 2+ years in a leadership role with 20+ direct reports preferred.
  • Experience with complex/engineered product lines.
  • Experience defining and utilizing manufacturing systems, data, and metrics to plan and execute production.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to work independently, multi-task, and maintain a high sense of urgency.
  • Associate’s degree or trade school certification preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office required; knowledge of ADP Workforce Now a plus.
  • Must meet the definition of a "U.S. person" under ITAR (22 C.F.R. §120.62).

Physical Requirements

  • Climbing stairs occasionally to meet with engineers or other staff.
  • Sitting, standing, or walking for the entire duration of the shift.
  • Occasional lifting, pushing, or pulling of items up to 35 lbs.
  • Regular use of hands and fingers to operate computers, telephones, and keyboards.
  • Close vision, color perception, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus; must have 20/20 vision (naturally or corrected) and pass an annual vision test.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write fluently in English.

Pay

$80,000–$110,000 yearly salary (salaried-exempt position).

Schedule

2nd shift: 3:30 PM–12:00 AM, Monday–Friday. Hours may vary based on company needs.
