Manufacturing Production Worker II - Entry-US
About the role
The Manufacturing Production Worker II - Entry position at Kennametal Inc. in Bedford, PA is responsible for inspecting products during manual or automatic clip/pack operations, packing products into containers, and placing them on skids. The role also involves operating machines at optimal levels to meet production targets, inspecting parts to ensure compliance with ISO standards, supporting delivery schedules, managing inventory, participating in lean initiatives, performing TPM and 5S activities, and tracking metrics.
Responsibilities
- Performs pre-operation checks for individual machines and work area
- Operates clipper or pack station at optimal levels to meet or exceed production rates assigned by shop orders
- Inspects parts to meet established ISO requirements (labels, piece count, containers)
- Supports functions and processes shop orders to meet established due dates
- Tracks and solves material usage and equipment efficiency to reduce costs
- Manages Work In Process (WIP) and components (hardware, clips, washers, buckets, boxes), performing cycle counts as needed
- Participates in lean events and utilizes lean processes in daily duties
- Performs daily TPM on associated equipment
- Conducts daily 5S activities for the work area
- Gathers and posts established metrics daily
- Accurately records required data (production, quality, etc.)
Requirements
- High school diploma or general equivalent diploma
- Completion of basic math, blueprint reading, and gauge-reading training
- Ability to understand and communicate written and oral instructions
