Shift
12-hour Swing Shift in Henderson, NC
2 weeks on 1st shift (7 am – 7 pm) & 2 weeks on 3rd shift (7 pm – 7 am)
14 scheduled days per month & every other weekend off
Responsibilities
- Charge, sample, and discharge ball mills
- Charge feed tanks and spray dry powder
- Perform ball mill cleanouts, washing and screening of mill media
- Complete general housekeeping
- Retrieve the proper feed materials
- Complete all paperwork and/or computer entry correctly and fully
- Clean equipment: powder hoppers, mixing equipment, blenders, hand tools, and material handling equipment
- Ensure clean and safe workplace
- Set mill timer for prescribed milling time; record start and stop times
- Safely sample mill to ensure sample represents the population; transport sample to lab and enter data in spreadsheet
- Monitor and maintain dryer temperatures, pressures, flows, atmospheres, and record keeping
- Create labels and place on appropriate powder containers
- Weigh finished powder, store it, record storage location in SAP, and move powder as needed
- Clean equipment: powder hoppers, ball mills, screener, cooling unit, spray dryer, vacuum dryer, hand tools, and material handling equipment
- Assist in enforcement of EHS and quality methodologies
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
- Ability to safely lift at least 33 pounds
- Successfully pass the tow motor driving test
- Ability to perform basic troubleshooting on the equipment
- Ability to read and understand work instructions, safety warnings, batch sheets, and operating instructions with minimum direction
