Manufacturing Production Worker - 3rd shift Hudson, OH

Smithers-Oasis Company, a diverse global manufacturer of floral foam, medical impression foam, and custom foams for specialized applications, has immediate openings for Production Workers on 3rd shift at its Temprecision International facility in Hudson, Ohio.

About the role

As a Production Worker, you will help people express and experience emotion through floral products, support medical solutions, and contribute to feeding the world through agricultural and hydroponic applications. This is a full-time, on-site position on the 3rd shift.

Schedule

Typical full-time 3rd shift hours are Sunday through Thursday from 8:30pm to 6:30am. Overtime will be required based on business needs.

Pay

Starting pay is $18.00/hour, plus a $2.00/hour shift differential. The annual salary range is $37,000 – $42,000.

Responsibilities

• Operate all assigned machinery following safe operating procedures
• Assemble, fabricate, and package products under supervision
• Sort, inspect, label, and mark products to ensure high quality standards
• Notify leadership if foam does not meet required standards
• Check machinery daily for malfunctions and report issues
• Maintain high production speed to meet daily schedules
• Remove scrap material from work areas
• Complete necessary records and reports
• Maintain a clean and safe working area according to safety procedures
• Work in other departments or locations as production requires
• Participate in continuous improvement activities
• Support and exemplify the company’s core values
• Perform other duties as required

Requirements

• High school diploma or G.E.D. (preferred) or equivalent experience
• Ability to read, write, add, and subtract
• Minimum of 1–2 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
• Previous experience driving a tow motor is strongly preferred
• Must be reliable with consistent attendance
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and use some judgment in decision-making
• Knowledge of standard manufacturing practices
• Must adhere to safety practices to ensure safety for self and others
• May direct and train others on occasion

• Work involves handling average weight materials and operating machines that may require bending or stooping
• Considerable standing and walking; may require above-average physical effort depending on equipment speed
• May require a high degree of manual dexterity, concentration, and speed
• Frequent exposure to disagreeable elements (e.g., noise, dust, odors)
• Workflow is fast-paced with constant pressure to meet deadlines
• Extended work hours may be required to complete job functions
