Manufacturing Process Technician
Job Description
SUMMARY: Set-up and troubleshoot Lining equipment to ensure efficient operation in order to meet production needs.
- Maintenance and development of new tooling, machines, and other equipment.
- Maintain older machines and equipment.
- Aid in training of mechanics and operators to ensure they have complete knowledge of the process.
- Research and install new technology that will help quality and productivity levels, such as fiber-optics, controls, PLC, vision systems, and drives.
- Aid in managing shifts.
- Work with outside vendors and subcontracting machine shops and sheet metal work.
- Troubleshoot all electrical and PLC problems in the department.
- Install sensor systems and diverters on machines to improve productivity.
- Supervise hourly mechanics, assign work, and monitor productivity.
- Accept responsibility to comply with all safety, quality, customer, ISO, SQF, and any other regulatory requirements.
- Has the authority to report concerns that could impact these requirements or suggest areas for improvement.
Qualifications
- 5 years related experience.
- Good computer/software skills.
- Knowledge of PLC Ladder Logic.
- Knowledge of reading and writing electrical schematics.
- Knowledge of computer programming (basic).
- Excellent attendance and good work history.
- Physical mobility including walking, sitting, bending, twisting, standing, pushing, pulling, and lifting (up to 50 pounds periodically).
- Ability to work safely in a production environment, around moving mechanical parts, recognizing various sounds and alarms.
- Ability to work overtime as needed.
Pay
The starting salary for this position is expected to be between $29 per hour to $34 per hour. Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Position may also be eligible for Amcor’s Management Incentive Plan / Sales Incentive Plan, which is an annual bonus program based on business and individual performance, as well as medical coverage and other health and welfare benefits.
