About the role

Pratt & Whitney is seeking a Manufacturing Process Engineer to support the Columbus Forge Blades (CFB) Module Center. This role focuses on robotic automation processes within the Manufacturing Engineering Organization.

Responsibilities

  • Stand up new automation processes from the ground up, including fixturing, process tryout, work instruction, standard work, and gaining engineering source approval.
  • Develop and implement plans aligned with business strategy to advance our world-class technology portfolio.
  • Provide operational engineering support to develop technologies and processes that meet growth and cost-reduction targets.
  • Leverage manufacturing innovations to improve cost, delivery, and quality of aerospace blade forgings.
  • Own relentless Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) for correcting non-conformances from automated processes; maintain work instructions applicable to automation.
  • Optimize, automate, and reduce waste; support operational excellence using statistical analysis for process control and certification.
  • Develop blade processes using statistical methods to meet or exceed business objectives for process control.
  • Assist with problem-solving during manufacturing-related investigations.
  • Provide leadership in eliminating EH&S/Ergonomics/Human Factors risks and addressing quality issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM field and 2 or more years' experience in engineering, manufacturing operations, quality, or a related industrial environment, or a Master's degree and 1 or more years’ experience in manufacturing operations, quality, or a related industrial environment.
  • Understanding of continuous improvement tools such as Six Sigma and LEAN, or Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Engineering degree (mechanical, electrical, industrial, or manufacturing engineering).
  • Offline and teach pendant programming of Fanuc robots, with 2 years of robotics and PLC experience.

Pay

The salary range for this role is $68,900 – $131,100 USD.

Schedule

This role is onsite. Employees in onsite roles work primarily at the designated location, including all production and maintenance workers.
