Manufacturing/Process Engineer - Onsite Daily (Local Candidates Only)

Position Summary
The Manufacturing Engineer will provide support to the Manufacturing team to enable production to meet the ship schedule and provide a high quality product to client Parata’s customers. They will also support the Logistics Team to create HTS Codes for international products and parts.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering, Engineering Technology or other related field of study. In lieu of degree, relevant experience acceptable.
- 1-2 years of related work experience with BS degree.
- Excellent analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to work across a variety of departments.
- Multi-tasking and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Appreciation and awareness for Manufacturing demand and prioritization.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Experience using SolidWorks, a plus.
Responsibilities
- Understand client Parata products and/or parts shipped and received internationally, which are used in manufacturing.
- Identify the required information for Customs classifications and gather information from BD Parata systems, websites and/or colleagues of cross functional departments such as engineering and R&D, among others.
- Implement and provide support for new product introductions and existing product changes that impact Manufacturing, using the Engineering Change Order (ECO) process and other tools.
- Provide manufacturing floor operations support to include:
- Improve and maintain manufacturing process instructions (MPIs).
- Support or lead Lean efforts to improve cell layout, replenishment, 5S, standard work, visual management, and quality at the source.
- Improve and maintain Kanban’s and other replenishment processes to ensure components are always available and properly accounted for.
- Maintain manufacturing bills of materials (BOMs) so that replenishment processes correctly account for parts usage in manufacturing.
- Support or lead manufactured product quality continuous improvement efforts.
- Perform other duties assigned to meet business needs.
- Strong attention to detail, ability to work independently, and part of a team.
- Ability to work closely with and provide work direction to others in high demand situations.
