Position Summary

Teal Drones, a wholly owned subsidiary of Red Cat Holdings, seeks a full-time Manufacturing Process Engineer. Teal specializes in designing and developing Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS drones) for defense, public safety, and government security applications. The Manufacturing Process Engineer is responsible for enhancing efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness through the design, optimization, and implementation of manufacturing processes.

About the Role

The role involves the development of manufacturing processes, workflows, and procedures to improve efficiency and reduce costs. This includes the design of production lines, including the layout of machines and workstations. The engineer also analyzes existing processes to identify areas for improvement, implements changes to optimize performance, and ensures adherence to quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Develops, designs, and implements manufacturing processes, workflows, and procedures to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Analyzes existing processes to identify areas for improvement, implements changes to optimize performance, and ensures adherence to quality standards.
  • Researches and implements ways to improve processes, such as making them more cost-effective and efficient.
  • Maintains detailed process documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs) and training materials for operators.
  • Drives for continuous improvement in manufacturing processes.
  • Works closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, production, quality control, and maintenance, to ensure smooth operations.
  • Manages manufacturing process improvement projects, including planning, execution, and monitoring.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Industrial, Manufacturing, or Electronics)
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
  • Demonstrated experience in manufacturing operations
  • Strong teamwork skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Strong computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office applications or similar workflow tools
  • Possess a positive attitude and keen attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
  • Excellent communication skills for interfacing with engineering teams and manufacturing operation personnel
  • Experience in CAD software (Solidworks) a plus

Qualifications

  • Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
    • Ability to stand for extended periods
    • Capability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds
    • Manual dexterity and fine motor skills for operating equipment and performing assembly tasks
    • Visual acuity for conducting quality inspections on small components
    • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and other industrial elements, while adhering to all safety protocols, personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements, and workplace safety regulations
