Manufacturing Process Engineer

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate manufacturing operations to identify process inefficiencies, performance gaps, and improvement opportunities.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives and oversee projects from planning and design through execution and validation.
  • Develop, revise, and maintain detailed operational procedures and work instructions to improve consistency and process control.
  • Facilitate and participate in Lean Manufacturing initiatives, including Kaizen events, TPM activities, process mapping, and structured problem-solving exercises.
  • Provide technical expertise to improve production throughput, product quality, workplace safety, and overall operational effectiveness.
  • Analyze equipment performance and manufacturing data to improve reliability and reduce downtime.
  • Conduct root cause investigations related to production, quality, and equipment issues and implement sustainable corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with vendors, customers, operations personnel, and cross-functional teams to resolve technical and quality concerns.
  • Create and maintain facility and equipment layouts using CAD and related engineering software.
  • Support process development in metal manufacturing operations, including measurement systems, inspection technologies, cleaning processes, and production equipment optimization.
  • Partner with maintenance teams to troubleshoot equipment failures and implement long-term reliability improvements.
  • Leverage analytics, industrial data collection systems, and predictive maintenance technologies to enhance process performance and product quality.
  • Provide engineering support across multiple functional areas, including production, maintenance, procurement, and quality assurance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical discipline preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment, and process improvement methodologies.
  • Experience applying Lean Manufacturing principles and quality improvement tools.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
  • Proficiency with CAD software and engineering-related technologies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across all organizational levels.
  • Strong customer-focused mindset and commitment to delivering results.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with rapid prototyping, process development, or advanced manufacturing technologies is a plus.
  • Able to work independently while contributing effectively within cross-functional teams.
  • Comfortable making informed decisions in changing operational environments.
