About the role
Dana is a global leader in the supply of highly engineered driveline, sealing, and thermal-management technologies that improve the efficiency and performance of vehicles with both conventional and alternative-energy powertrains. Serving passenger vehicle and commercial truck markets, Dana provides original-equipment manufacturers and the aftermarket with local product and service support through a network of nearly 100 engineering, manufacturing, and distribution facilities.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary contact for all processing issues across disciplines (Product Design, Sales, Tool Shop, Production, Program Managers/Coordinators).
- Oversee stamping and assembly of all prototypes.
- Collaborate with Tooling, Product Design, and Material Suppliers to resolve and document problems on prototype production tools.
- Troubleshoot metal stamping to resolve processing problems.
- Assist the facility in meeting quality, cost reduction, and delivery initiatives.
- Prepare reports on material processing, tooling problems, assembly issues, and engineering tests.
- Lead and/or support problem-solving activities (8D, 7-step, Error Proofing, Fishbone, 5 Whys).
- Lead and/or support continuous improvement programs and employee involvement work teams.
- Work with internal and external tool shops to develop equipment, fixtures, and gages for development and production systems.
- Participate in cost-saving initiatives such as Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VA/VE).
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree in Engineering or 5 years of experience in a related field.
- Experience in metal stamping and/or manufacturing preferred.
- Proficiency developing PFMEAs, operator instructions, Control Plans, and Process Flow Charts.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).
- Ability to travel as required to customers and suppliers.
