Manufacturing Operator - Night Shift Sign on Bonus

Charter Manufacturing is a fourth-generation family-owned business where our will to grow drives us to do it better. Join the team and become part of our family! Charter Steel is hiring for Production positions on nights, offering $26.50 per hour plus a $2,000 hiring bonus.

Responsibilities

• Billet Conditioner (Melting Department): rotate through different positions throughout 12‑hour shift; use power tools to remove kerf from billets; apply ID tags using a welding torch and mark billets with chalk; place chains and spacer bars between billets; perform quality inspections; operate an overhead crane; frequent walking, standing, push/pull, and lifting up to 35 lbs.
• Banding Operator: enter and monitor order data into the computer; accurately identify coils by printing and applying tags throughout the process; operate coil compactor and other coil handling equipment; operate hydraulic and pneumatic hand tools; operate a forklift; teamwork & communication essential; follow all safety & quality procedures; frequent standing, walking, kneeling; push/pull, and lifting up to 20 lbs; reaching over 15″ away from body.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED (assistance available via FREE GEDWorks program)
• Comfortable with basic math (counting and simple calculations)
• Team player with good communication skills
• Background in manufacturing, industrial production, assembly, warehouse, welding, construction, metals, steel, or other hands‑on jobs
• Forklift and overhead crane experience is a plus
• Strong safe‑work mindset

Pay

$26.50 per hour plus a $2,000 hiring bonus.

Schedule

Rotating 5‑2‑2‑5 schedule: 12‑hour night shifts (5 nights on, 2 off, 2 on, 5 off).
