About the role

This position is located at 160 Terminal Ave, Clark, NJ 07066. The facility has two buildings: the North building, which produces natural flavorings and essential oils (noted for its fruitier smell), and the South building, which produces seasonings for meat, chicken broth, and beef gravy (noted for savory and garlic smells).

Responsibilities

  • Product formulation from raw materials, including compounding various liquid formulas and preparing emulsions used in product formulas.
  • Operation, cleaning, and maintenance of processing equipment.
  • Basic understanding and operation of spray dry technology and various spray drying units to achieve desired results.
  • Follow all manufacturing instructions on formula batch sheets using proper compounding techniques to ensure product quality.
  • Packaging of finished product associated with spray drying.
  • Properly label all batches submitted to the lab for evaluation.
  • Utilize inventory lot rotation (FIFO) for all materials used.
  • Follow all 5S and Good Manufacturing procedures to maintain good housekeeping and ensure compliance with all safety and environmental laws and regulations.
  • Proper handling of allergen products and equipment according to Allergen Control Procedures.
  • Responsible for conformance to Food Safety and Food Quality Plans as described in the Kerry Clark SQF Systems manual. Report any deviations to management and QA, and set product aside until further instructed.
  • Other duties assigned by management.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Experience within the flavor or a closely related industry.
  • Proficiency in compounding techniques and raw materials.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 80 pounds and move up to 400 pounds.
  • Ability to operate forklifts and other equipment integral to job functions.
  • Ability to see and distinguish between labels.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and walk through the warehouse.
  • Certification to wear a respirator and follow all rules regarding respirator wear.

Working Environment

Factory environment with exposure to flavors, basic product chemicals, and raw materials.

Pay

$25.00 per hour, plus a $1.00 night shift differential.

Schedule

10:30 PM to 6:30 AM.
