Manufacturing Operations Manager
About the role
Corbion’s lactic acid and derivatives production facility in Blair, Nebraska is seeking a Manufacturing Operations Manager to lead production operations, manage budgets, and foster a culture of safety and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Ensure facility compliance with all relevant regulations and maintain an accident-free environment
- Strategically plan and develop manufacturing processes to align with Corbion's business objectives
- Manage fixed and variable cost budgets, contributing to annual budget planning and monitoring financial performance
- Provide strategic direction to the Assistant Operations Manager and oversee the execution of tactical operational plans
- Develop and communicate Operations Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that measure production quality and efficiency
- Foster a collaborative culture among departments, ensuring open communication and adherence to safety protocols
- Supervise hiring and retention processes, monitor employee engagement, and address performance issues
- Review and report on monthly production results to align with Corbion's production goals
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean practices, and resolve production-related issues
- Manage quality discrepancies and improve production efficiencies
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related field
- 8+ years of progressive management experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in biorefining or chemical industries
- Demonstrated ability to manage operations and lead teams, including coaching and mentoring
- Experience with Lean management processes and successful budget management
- Proven success in change management and plant optimization
Physical Demands
The role involves primarily office and plant environments. Physical demands include sitting, standing, walking, climbing stairs, kneeling, bending, stooping, and reaching overhead. Lifting up to 20 pounds may be required occasionally.
