Manufacturing Maintenance Mechanic
Join Sherwin-Williams as a Maintenance Technician and ensure the plant site—both internal and external—remains operational while working safely in a PSM (Process Safety Management) environment with hazardous chemicals.

- 2nd Shift: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday
- 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM
- Shift Differential: $0.80/hour

This position is eligible for a performance-based bonus under the Company’s applicable plans. Compensation decisions consider skill sets, experience, training, licensure, certifications, and business needs. The wage range for this role reflects these factors.

Responsibilities
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair production and facility equipment, including dryers, chillers, thermo oxidizers, HVAC, fire pumps, mixers, mills, filling line equipment, conveyors, wrappers, tanks, motors, pumps, tank washers, tank tippers, docks, and buildings
- Maintain production equipment to optimize uptime, ensuring safe and timely manufacture of quality coatings
- Check and refill lubricant reservoirs, apply grease to lubricant points, and inspect machinery during scheduled preventive maintenance
- Operate shop tools and machinery related to maintenance within skill level
- Make repairs and adjustments to machinery, assist in dismantling machinery, and replace defective components
- Assist in electrical projects, perform minor electrical repairs, and diagnose 115 VAC control circuitry
- Understand basic electrical and pneumatic diagrams, and work with 12 VDC to 480 VAC electrical wiring or circuits
- Assist in pipe fitting tasks and perform some installation tasks unassisted
- Perform repairs on power industrial equipment and assist in rebuilding related equipment
- Maintain and service building equipment such as HVAC, lighting, water, and sewer systems
- Assist in the installation of new plant equipment
- Improve reliability and operating efficiency of plant equipment
- Conduct preventive maintenance tasks to ensure efficient and safe operation of all equipment
- Support site housekeeping and safety programs, maintaining a clean and safe workplace
- Operate forklifts following all OSHA safety regulations
- Follow all OSHA safety and Sherwin-Williams policies and procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- At least eighteen (18) years of age
- Legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for an employment work visa now or in the future
- At least three (3) years of work experience in maintenance within a manufacturing facility
Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications:
- Industrial, electrical, and/or welding certification or license
- At least three (3) years of maintenance experience in a PSM chemical manufacturing or distribution environment
- At least one (1) year of maintenance experience applying electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic concepts
- At least one (1) year of work experience implementing Programmable Logic Controls (PLC)
