Manufacturing Machine Specialist/Adjuster with Winchester

About the role

The Machine Specialist/Adjuster position is located at the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant in Independence, MO. The salary range for a Machine Specialist is $25.60/hour with a potential increase to $29.25/hour after a 120-day probationary period, and for a Machine Adjuster, the starting salary is $24.80/hour with a potential increase to $28.33/hour after the same period. The schedule offered is 4-10s, 3x12's, or a 36/48 split, depending on the department and availability.

Responsibilities

• Sets up and operates machines, performs mechanical adjustments and repairs production equipment.
• Performs visual inspections of parts and components, including finished product, using a variety of gauges to ensure manufacturing specifications are achieved.
• Removes, installs, and adjusts punches, dies, eject stems, bolts, etc., using various hand tools for proper alignment.
• Pushes hand trucks and fill hoppers to keep machines supplied with materials.
• May perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Basic working knowledge of mechanical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience operating mechanical production type equipment preferred.
• Ability to use power and non-power hand tools.
• Ability to stand for prolonged periods, reach overhead, twist and bend at the waist, climb ladders and stairs.
• Ability to lift and carry 30-40 lbs., push up to 1,000 lbs., including team lifts and use of support devices (hand cart, pallet jacks, gondolas, etc.).
• Must have full vision, including color vision.
• Ability and willingness to work any shift, including weekends and overtime.

Qualifications

• Machine Specialist: Demonstrated advanced experience in machine operation including but not limited to adjustments, repairs and maintenance including preventative maintenance, and tooling change overs.
• Machine Specialist: Familiarity with automated system management including HMI, PLC systems, or CNC equipment.
• Machine Specialist: Experience operating mechanical equipment or heavy equipment such as hand trucks or forklifts.
• Machine Specialist: Hands-on experience with diagnosis of machine issues and repair.
• Machine Specialist: Experience repairing manufacturing line equipment preferred.
• Machine Specialist: Experience with machining tools such as lathes, milling machines, saws, fabrication and/or blueprints.
• Machine Specialist: Ability to use measuring devices, micrometers, calipers.

Location-Specific Requirements

• This position requires successful vetting as an Employee Possessor in accordance with U.S. Department of Justice and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
• This position requires access to ITAR controlled technical data, and as such, employment will be contingent upon the candidate's ability to access ITAR controlled technical data pursuant to an export license approved by the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls, if required.
• This position requires successful vetting for unescorted access in accordance with U.S. Army and Department of Defense access policies.
• The US Government does not allow non-U.S. citizens on-site at the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant. Therefore, to be considered in the hiring process, the candidate must be a U.S. citizen.
