Manufacturing Engineering Technician, Integration (Second Shift)

About the role

This position supports day-to-day Work Center (WC) execution, development, optimization, and documentation of metal fabrication and assembly processes. Working under the guidance of senior engineers, you will ensure safe operations, meet schedule targets, and deliver high-quality output aligned with KPIs. You will partner closely with the Operations Manager to identify constraints, support continuous improvement, test solutions, participate in first-of-kind builds, and maintain workflow across the work center.

Responsibilities

• Assist with optimization of metal fabrication and assembly processes to meet quality and efficiency standards.
• Support the development of work instructions and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for consistent production practices.
• Monitor production processes and participate in root cause analysis for defects or issues to support quality assurance.
• Contribute to engineering projects, including process validations, capacity analysis, and production trials under senior engineers' direction.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement new manufacturing technologies and process changes.
• Participate in continuous improvement projects to enhance process efficiency, reduce waste, and improve production outcomes.
• Support Lean Manufacturing principles and other improvement methodologies.
• Gain hands-on experience in manufacturing engineering, including process design, optimization, and quality control.
• Assist in creating training programs for operators and design engineers on process curriculum.
• Enforce safety protocols, 5S practices, standard work, and compliance with operational policies.
• Support cross-training and upskilling of team members in partnership with Learning & Development.
• Support root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective action implementation for issues impacting quality, delivery, or safety.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED; technical certification or associate degree in electronics, electromechanics, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment, preferably in electrical or industrial equipment.
• Experience with CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
• Knowledge of ISO 9001/AS9100 standards and safety protocols.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems, components, and tools.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and electrical diagrams.
• Basic knowledge of quality control systems and practices.
• Proficiency using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Commitment to safety standards and procedures.

Physical Demands

• Office work is performed in a climate-controlled setting; warehouse work is not climate-controlled.
• Exposure to excessive heat and cold, wet/humid conditions, noise/vibration, hazards, dust, and fumes.
• Regularly required to stand, walk, and move throughout the production floor for extended periods (approximately 40% of the workday).
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.; buddy lift up to 100 lbs. Mechanical assistance required for loads exceeding 100 lbs.
