About the role

The Manufacturing Engineering Technician supports daily manufacturing operations and processes in the facility, focusing on maintaining and improving equipment in terms of safety, quality, and productivity. This role develops programs and parameters for selected production processes, identifies and implements process improvements, and trains associates.

Responsibilities

  • Maximize productive time of equipment by improving the reliability and repeatability of production systems.
  • Coordinate and assist with equipment installation and start-up.
  • Assist in evaluating existing tooling and hardware to ensure optimum performance by associates.
  • Assist in the development of quality systems for new products and processes.
  • Identify areas in which tooling, cleanliness, operation sequences, or forming consistency can be improved to increase throughput or product quality.
  • Oversee tooling and suggest and implement modifications to improve system productivity.
  • Decrease robotic cycle times by implementing the use of advanced welding technology.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree or bachelor’s degree in welding engineering technology, electronics, industrial maintenance, or other related programs is preferred.
  • Two years of experience performing MIG welding by hand desired.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical, electronic, fluid power, mechanical, and plumbing systems.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements outlined by OSHA, EPA, NFPA, NEC, and other state/local organizations.
  • Ability to interpret prints, sketches, verbal instructions, and mathematical data to generate tooling, gauging, fixturing, and material handling for systems.
  • Robotic systems programming experience is preferred.
