Manufacturing Engineer II

This is a fully onsite role, with work performed at your designated Regal Rexnord office in West Chester, PA.

About the role

The Manufacturing Engineer will lead process improvements in the manufacturing cells associated with the Assembly and Machine Shop production lines. This person will maintain safe and reliable manufacturing processes to ensure maximized product yield and throughput, own specific manufacturing processes, and lead lean initiatives governed by the Regal Rexnord Business System (RBS).

Responsibilities

• Act as primary owner for technical questions and challenges from assembly/machine operators, answering process-related questions promptly and reacting quickly to initial quality, tooling, and equipment issues to keep production running.
• Lead daily management to drive Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, Productivity, Cost, and Growth (SQDIPCG) performance in area of responsibility:
  • Collect and compile data for cell-level SQDIPCG.
  • Establish regular communication of data to associates and affected persons.
  • Create action plans and execute to meet goals.
• Perform root cause and countermeasure analysis (RCCM) of internal and external quality issues.
• Monitor and troubleshoot potential defective product in area of ownership, providing feedback to operators on initial disposition.
• Perform Material Review Board (MRB) daily; identify plans for disposition, rework, or salvage of defective parts originating in area of ownership.
• Submit and execute Deviation and Engineering Change Order requests as needed.
• Collaborate with the Quality Team on external customer returns (RMAs), including root cause analysis and implementation of countermeasures using 8D methodology and other problem-solving tools.
• Perform basic troubleshooting and repairs of equipment in area of ownership:
  • Conduct initial mechanical and electrical troubleshooting to determine root cause of equipment failures.
  • Assist Maintenance with minor repairs and troubleshooting; escalate as required.
  • Ensure equipment preventative maintenance is performed in a timely manner.
  • Ensure calibration and validation are completed.
• Conduct process improvement activities:
  • Perform Installation, Operation, and Process qualification on new and existing equipment/tooling/processes.
  • Identify new/upgrade needs for equipment and write Capital Acquisition Requests.
  • Ensure repeatability and reproducibility of processes, testing, measurement, and analytical equipment.
  • Specify manufacturing methods and part routings.
  • Perform time studies or observe/capture standard work.
  • Participate in and conduct standard work (SW), Variation Reduction Kaizen (VRK), and other Kaizen activities to improve process stability.
  • Specify and order tooling, equipment, and consumables as needed.
  • Design and document fixturing and tools using SolidWorks software, applying GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis.
• Maintain documentation related to part routings, work instructions, and inspection:
  • Create/update Process Documentation for areas of ownership (Routers, OMS, MP, QSB).
  • Compile and write training material; conduct training/coaching sessions on quality control and manufacturing activities.
• Support new product development as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/industrial engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3-5 years of Manufacturing Engineering experience.
• High sense of urgency and results-driven mindset.
• Strong understanding of quality systems and process improvement tools preferred.
• Familiarity with manufacturing equipment and processes (e.g., laser welding, transfer molding) preferred.
• Working knowledge of inspection and measurement tools (CMM, caliper, micrometer, gages).
• Familiarity with documentation and process control creation.
• Proficiency in time and project management.
• Ability to work in a cross-functional environment.
• Strong written, verbal, and computer skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience with Lean Manufacturing and problem-solving tools.
• Previous experience with QS and ISO requirements.
