Duties/Responsibilities
- Develop, evaluate, improve, document and standardize manufacturing methods, labor utilization standards, and cost analysis systems to promote efficient staff and facility utilization.
- Determine appropriate methods for fabricating and joining materials.
- Analyze, recommend, and implement manufacturing process flows for enhancement of quality, cost reduction, and throughput.
- Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
- Research and recommend equipment needs and arrangement to ensure efficient and effective production methods.
- Design and develop manufacturing processes for enhancements, product changes, and new products, and related fixtures and tooling that are consistent with zero defect level and low product cost.
- Evaluate manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; soliciting observations from operators.
- Communicate with management and user personnel to develop production and design standards.
- Develop and implement process control techniques and procedures into manufacturing environment.
- Assure product and process quality by designing testing methods; testing finished-product and process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes.
- Provide engineering support in production departments to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
- Analyze product failure data and test results to determine root cause and develop solutions.
- Calculate production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements.
- Prepare product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Perform functions such as preparing proposals and budgets, analyzing labor costs, and writing reports, BOMs, and manage Engineering process changes.
- Evaluate new developments in welding to add to our current welding and production processes.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing, engineering, design, quality, and industrial process experience required.
- Strong experience using AutoCAD or similar system for design of processes, layouts.
- Strong project management skills.
- Experience utilizing data and analytics from an ERP system to analyze processes and promote improvements.
