Manufacturing Engineer I/II

About the role

The Manufacturing Engineer plays a crucial role in optimizing factory operations, enhancing quality, and improving customer service. This position involves relocating to Kings Mountain, NC for 2 years before moving to Knoxville, TN.

Responsibilities

• Cook up and implement basic training initiatives to support manufacturing.
• Specify and justify basic capital expenditures.
• Purchase and implement tooling and equipment to support daily operations.
• Provide basic technical support and troubleshooting for manufacturing processes and equipment.
• Recognize and recommend design and process changes to improve manufacturability.
• Identify and implement improvements to material utilization, cell layout, and machinery efficiency.
• Provide summarized data to influence key management decisions relating to budgeting, staffing, and capacity planning.
• Participate in Lean and safety initiatives.
• Manage basic individual projects in accordance with predetermined completion dates.
• Support production and manufacturing to optimize quality, productivity, on-time delivery, and operational efficiencies resulting in improved customer satisfaction.
• Support production and manufacturing quality management system and policies.

Requirements

• 2 Year / Associate Degree in engineering or equivalent years of job experience required.
• 4 Year / Bachelor Degree preferred.
• 0-2 years of relevant work experience in engineering required for level I.
• 3-5 years of relevant work experience in engineering required for level II.
• Basic CAD skills preferred.
• SAP experience preferred.
• Basic understanding of Lean concepts preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Ability to work flexible hours as needed.

Skills

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with SAP and Lean principles.
