About the role

Wieland is hiring a Manufacturing Engineer I to plan, design, and implement production systems that assure safety, performance, reliability, maintainability, schedule adherence, cost control, and quality assurance. This role is located in Delaware, OH and will be fully on-site.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure equipment and processes comply with all applicable local, state, federal, and insurance regulations while promoting a safe and healthy workplace.
  • Design and modify production equipment, tools, and layouts to improve efficiency and support evolving manufacturing needs.
  • Create and maintain detailed work instructions and manufacturing documentation to ensure consistent and optimized production processes.
  • Lead the design, installation, and troubleshooting of new and existing manufacturing equipment to enhance quality, throughput, and reliability.
  • Provide hands-on support to the production floor, addressing equipment or process issues quickly to minimize downtime and maintain output.
  • Develop specifications for new equipment.
  • Identify and analyze inefficiencies and recommend improvements to reduce waste and enhance operational performance.
  • Investigate production challenges, identify root causes, and implement solutions to improve product quality and process reliability.
  • Collaborate with maintenance, production, and engineering teams to coordinate equipment needs, schedule downtime, and gather input for continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics, or a related field, preferred.
  • 2-4 years of related job experience.
  • Electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic troubleshooting ability.
  • Analytical problem-solving and analysis abilities.
  • Proficient communication using verbal and written methods.
  • Proficient with SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Highly motivated and willing to take the initiative to get tasks done.
