Overview Position Summary: The Manufacturing Engineer I uses fundamental knowledge and skills to technically support daily Manufacturing Engineering (automation and/or sustaining engineering) activities related to new product design and manufacturing process, new and existing process and product improvement, and daily production operations. The base hourly range for this role is currently $31.25/hr. to $36.00/hr. Individual employee compensation will ultimately depend on factors including education, relevant experience, skillset, knowledge, and particular business needs. This is a temporary assignment, beginning in September, approximately 6-months. There is potential for extension or conversion depending on individual performance and business needs. Responsibilities Key Accountabilities: Support all phases of engineering projects from concept creation through production implementation and support. Design and develop manufacturing plan, processes, testers, fixtures, and equipment. Support installation, qualification, and validation of new equipment and processes; write and execute feasibilities, protocols/reports, and standard operating procedures (SOPs). Participate in programs for volume demand increases, cost reduction, quality, and efficiency improvement. Provide troubleshooting and failure analysis to resolve technical issues in a timely manner. Maintain the accuracy of current manufacturing procedures. Establish a safe, secure, controlled, and efficient operating environment. Prepare reports as needed. Develop knowledge of scientific and engineering principles. Ensure and maintain compliance with the company's quality system requirements through training and adherence to policies, procedures and processes. Qualifications Minimum Knowledge & Experience: Bachelor's degree (Mechanical or Electrical Engineering) or equivalent years of experience. One (1) to three (3) year previous manufacturing engineering experience; previous experience within a regulated medical device or pharmaceutical environment preferred. Basic familiarity with manufacturing, automation, and sustaining engineering concepts. Technically proficient in creating and understanding engineering drawings, schematics, specifications, tolerancing, and bills of materials (BOMs). Experience with automation development (batch and continuous methods). Good technical writing skills. Proficiency in Solidworks or CAD a plus. Familiarity with Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), ISO 9000 Standards, and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations preferred. Good written and verbal communication skills. Excellent problem solving skills are required Working knowledge of MS Office. Must be self-motivated and have the ability to work with minimal supervision; must also be able to work as part of a team.
