About the Role

This role involves overall responsibility for assigned production manufacturing process design and sustainment, focusing on safety, quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safe, efficient, and accurate layout plans based on local standards.
• Maintain appropriate line balance based on current state demand volumes.
• Maintain standard work processes and work instructions, updating them under guidance for best-known methods to drive safety, quality, and throughput.
• Maintain datasets for each discrete operation (e.g., cycle times, job-difficulty rating, number of workstations, safety score).
• Understand assigned product line capacities at current and future demand volumes.
• Work to alleviate process and equipment constraints to growth.
• Maintain accurate work content through standard time studies.
• Utilize Lean Principles and Engineering Best Practices to drive continual improvements to manufacturing and supporting processes, under guidance from a senior engineer.
• Respond urgently to line disruption issues.
• Participate in Kaizen events.
• Drive continual improvement to operational metrics (e.g., cycle times, square footage, downtime, OEE/OPE, work content, labor cost per unit, material cost per unit, units per person) through process equipment development, material consumption reduction, and process improvement.
• Represent manufacturing in cross-departmental activities such as MRB, design reviews, failure analysis, Kaizen events, and Value Stream Mapping.

Requirements

• 4-year degree from an accredited university in Engineering or a related field, or a combination of education and relevant experience.
• 1-2 years of related work experience preferred; however, this is an entry-level role.
• Basic knowledge of Lean Six-Sigma preferred.
• U.S. Citizenship is required.

Skills

• Ability to work independently in a collaborative environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook).

Work Environment

The role operates in both a professional office environment and a manufacturing environment. The employee may be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. Occasionally, the employee may encounter extreme conditions in the plant, and the noise level may be loud.
