About the Role

Collins Aerospace, a leader in technologically advanced, intelligent solutions for the aerospace and defense industry, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support assembly operations of Airbus Nacelle systems. This role focuses on optimizing performance across a wide range of tasks and services in support of assembly operations, production, and business unit objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure manufacturing process and product builds follow sequence and comply with EH&S and Quality requirements.
  • Own the design and arrangement of tooling and machines for the manufacturing process (layout).
  • Improve manufacturing processes/products to achieve producibility, collaborating with design engineers.
  • Implement process upgrades using engineering applications such as robotics and automation.
  • Identify opportunities on drawings and specifications to influence engineering design changes and line balancing.
  • Participate in tool design reviews to ensure feasibility, reduce build times, and lower program costs during fabrication.
  • Use data analytics and Statistical Process Control (SPC) to track and improve productivity, First Pass Yield (FPY), and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
  • Drive problem-solving initiatives and challenge the status quo (e.g., Corrective Action Investigations, OEE, FPY, customer escapes).
  • Contribute to Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) and Control Plans.
  • Create and maintain manufacturing process documents (routings, BOM, visual aids, standard work, etc.).
  • Participate in digital manufacturing solutions with support from Digital subject matter experts.

Qualifications

You Must Have

  • University degree or equivalent experience with less than 2 years of prior relevant experience.
  • SAP experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform real-time problem resolution in fast-paced manufacturing or engineering environments.

We Prefer

  • B.S. in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
  • Ability to read and interpret specifications and engineering drawings/models.
  • Experience adapting machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and understanding work instructions (verbal and written), performing basic math calculations, and conducting self-inspections/audits.
  • Demonstrated experience in Lean methodologies through Continuous Improvement events.
  • Ability to multitask, problem-solve, and manage resources effectively with strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Intermediate knowledge and experience with various operation software and MS Office.
  • Basic understanding of robotics, automation, Six Sigma/Red X, and project management.

Pay

The salary range for this role is $57,200 – $108,800 USD. The range is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including role, function, responsibilities, work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
