Position Overview
The manufacturing engineer shall support the business in areas of new product development; process improvement; daily production support; project management; analyze and interpret technical data (engineering drawings, specifications, purchase orders, etc.) and create shop routings, operations sheets, tools, and other necessary processes and equipment to produce a high-quality product.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Based on requirements from customer orders, plan sequences of operations for machining and assembly of products.
- Ensure efficient and effective manufacturing methods are used that are compatible to available machines.
- Specifies, designs, and/or procures special tooling or equipment required to attain product per customer requirement with in budgeted cost and time.
- Programs CNC machines to effectively and efficiently produce desired product.
- Participate in the Company’s Corrective Action and MRB Boards.
- Analyze and resolve machining and tooling issues to avoid problems.
- Create new or modify existing manufacturing drawings using CAD methodology.
- Value engineer existing products and processes to reduce cost, lead time and cycle times.
- Complies with all company policies/procedures.
- Complies with all military and contractual requirements.
Skills and Competencies
- Proficiency in SolidWorks and Microsoft Suite
- Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Basic understanding of typical manufacturing systems: Material Requirements Planning (MRP), Kitting, Batch sizing, Configuration control, Workflow routings
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Engineering required, equivalent experience considered.
- Experience and/or Training: 7+ years of manufacturing experience preferred
