About the role
The Manufacturing Engineer - CNC supports the development, automation, cost optimization, and continuous improvement within our CNC mill-turn, CNC grinding, and secondary operations.
Essential Functions
- Aid in identifying, specifying, and installing new equipment within the facility.
- Provide basic manufacturing engineering support to the operational team as directed.
- Maintain data system integrity by assisting with tasks such as change orders, non-conformance tracking, and system routing updates.
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts that support goals in Safety, Quality, Delivery, Productivity, and Cost Performance.
- Absorb time studies for assembly processes to support proper routing and improve process flow.
- Collaborate with colleagues, customers, and vendors to gather information, understand requirements, and assist in improving production techniques.
- Create and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and technical specifications for manufacturing equipment.
- Document designs, including creating drawings, specifications, and materials lists.
- Participate in training sessions on process, procedures, and documentation to help build and maintain workforce skills within assigned manufacturing areas.
- Maintain punctuality, work cooperatively in a team, and contribute positively to group efforts.
- Take direction from [supervisor/manager] and other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Ability to perform essential job duties with or without reasonable accommodation and without posing a direct threat to safety or health of employee or others.
- Education level: Bachelor degree in engineering, mechanical or manufacturing preferred. Industry experience would be considered in the absence of a degree.
- Relevant Previous Experience: 2-3 years experience in manufacturing, machining, assembly or operations environment, Experience with CNC equipment - Mill-turn and/or OD Grinding Preferred, Knowledge Areas/Skills: Experience/knowledge of Kaizen, 6S, Lean Manufacturing. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize work and manage multiple tasks. Advanced Excel, Word, Autocad, Project, Solidworks. Working knowledge of ERP systems (Encompix beneficial).

Physical Demands
- Frequent sitting for tasks such as designing, analyzing data, or using computer-aided design (CAD) software.
- Sometimes standing or walking to inspect production lines, collaborate with teams, or evaluate equipment on the shop floor.
- Occasionally bending, twisting, reaching, and lifting up to 20 pounds.
- Frequent exposure to moderate noise levels and occasional exposure to contaminants or hazardous equipment.
- Constant interaction with others in both office and manufacturing settings.
