Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering and technical support in manufacturing processes, conduct daily Material Review Board (MRB), identify non-conformance root cause, and implement corresponding corrective actions.
  • Provide engineering support in equipment procurement planning & justification, set-up & qualification, maintenance, calibration, performance evaluation, and disposition.
  • Develop and maintain documentation of procedures for the manufacture and inspection of the company's products.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date information on routing, set-up, run rates, yield, material consumption, attendance, and all other applicable manufacturing resources in MRP.
  • Facilitate employee resource training when required.
  • Carefully coordinate new tooling and First Article sample inspection and reporting.
  • Confirm and define actual manufacturing processes and resources needed. Evaluate against the quote estimate. Update the part template in MRP when necessary.
  • Implement continual improvement and cost reduction (PIP) projects to mitigate waste process variations and inflation.
  • Conduct structured, data-based, DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) project management, auditing, and report documentation.
  • Provide weekly metric reports. Present data sets using Pareto, Histogram, Process flow map or relevant control charts, calculate Process Capability, Yield, or Sigma ratings, Scatter plot, FMEA, A3, etc. when required.
  • Provide engineering support to customers on their existing product, manufacturing capabilities, and new product development.
  • Engage customers to interpret technical drawings and specifications. Recommend design for manufacturability.
  • Manage tool and external process vendors for competitive cost and lead times at the highest levels of quality and product performance.
  • Aid in tooling design to optimize functionality.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
  • Over 5 years of relevant work experience.
  • Aerospace and Defense industry experience preferred.
  • Rubber and Plastic industry experience preferred.
