Manufacturing Assembly Technician II (1st shift), Amazon Leo

Leo is Amazon’s low Earth orbit satellite broadband network. Its mission is to deliver fast, reliable internet to customers and communities around the world. The Leo satellite constellation is one of the most ambitious projects to date, designed to provide reliable internet with the capacity, flexibility, and performance to serve households, schools, hospitals, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations in locations without reliable connectivity.

You will contribute to full-scale production of Leo satellites, ensuring high standards of execution.

Responsibilities

• Champion safety requirements in all designated zones and work locations.
• Assemble and test avionic LRUs, electrical-mechanical assemblies, handle and install fiber-optics, and PCBAs with attention to detail.
• Ensure lab equipment is maintained and calibrated.
• Support preventative maintenance activities on test equipment and data acquisition systems.
• Identify equipment requirements, process improvements, and maintain floor stock inventory.
• Independently execute and prioritize work to meet company deliverables.
• Execute test procedures for component and system-level testing and maintenance.
• Receive shipments and coordinate deliveries with recipients (using pallet jacks, kit carts, etc.).
• Contribute to improving SOPs and safety procedures.

Requirements

• Willing to work all shifts, overtime, and weekends as needed (estimated shift: Wednesday - Saturday, 6am-4:30pm).
• Flexible working/commuting between site locations.
• Ability to stand for long periods, climb ladders, bend, grasp, sit, pull, push, stoop, and stretch.
• Able to lift up to 25 lbs. unassisted.
• Due to applicable export control laws, candidates must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, U.S. permanent resident (Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
• Must be 18 years or older with the ability to understand and adhere to all job requirements and safety guidelines.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ years in a high traceability manufacturing environment or relevant trade school certification.
• 1+ years of hand tools experience (e.g., calipers, multimeters, torque wrenches).
• 1+ years working with test tools and methods to validate systems.

Preferred Qualifications

• Aircraft & Powerplant (A&P) certification/license.
• Prior telecom (fiber optics) experience or CFOT certification/equivalent.
• Airman or Avionic certification or equivalent experience.
• ASE certification or equivalent experience.
• Experience in a fast-paced production environment with flight hardware.
• Ability to use precision measuring instruments.
• 1+ years of experience reading, interpreting, and working from engineering documentation or drawings.
• Experience working with FOD, ESD-sensitive hardware, and clean room requirements.
• 1+ years of electro-mechanical assembly, final integration, and/or harness integration experience.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Ability to rapidly change roles/responsibilities in a high-paced, challenging work environment.

Pay

The starting pay for this role in Washington State is up to $33.50/hour, with incremental raises based on tenure. Base pay varies by market location per the Washington State Pay Transparency Act.
