Manufacturing Assembly Technician II , Amazon Leo
Amazon Leo is Amazon’s low Earth orbit satellite network. Our mission is to deliver fast, reliable internet connectivity to customers beyond the reach of existing networks—from individual households to schools, hospitals, businesses, and government agencies. About the role
You will work in a high-impact production environment where attention to detail, motivation, and execution standards are critical. Your contributions will directly influence the success of the Leo satellite constellation.
Responsibilities
- Champion safety requirements in all designated zones and work locations
- Assemble and test avionic LRUs, electrical-mechanical assemblies, handle and install fiber-optics, and PCBAs with precision
- Maintain and calibrate lab equipment
- Support preventative maintenance activities on test equipment and data acquisition systems
- Identify equipment requirements and process improvements, and maintain floor stock inventory
- Independently execute and prioritize work to meet company deliverables
- Execute test procedures for component and system-level testing and maintenance
- Receive shipments and coordinate deliveries using pallet jacks, kit carts, and other equipment
- Contribute to improving SOPs and safety procedures
Requirements
- Must be 18 years or older with the ability to understand and adhere to all job requirements and safety guidelines
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1+ years in a high traceability manufacturing environment, or relevant trade school certification
- 1+ years of hand tools experience (e.g., calipers, multi-meters, torque wrenches)
- 1+ years working with test tools and test methods that adequately validate systems
- Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations or similar technical platforms
- Knowledge of aviation safety standards
- Experience in a fast-paced, automated, industrial, logistics, production, or manufacturing environment
- Experience with precision torque, measurement, and inspection devices (e.g., automated and manual torque wrenches, calipers, micrometers, profilometers, optical inspection devices, multi-meters)
- Experience reading and writing procedures, technical documents, and engineering drawings
- 1+ years of mechanical and electrical integration or assembly experience
- CFOT certification or equivalent
- Experience working with FOD, ESD-sensitive hardware, and clean room requirements
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and rapidly adapt to changing roles/responsibilities

You will join a team of technicians with over 20+ years of diverse skills and experience. While some tasks will require individual contribution, you will often collaborate in a group environment to achieve organizational goals. The team thrives on positive energy, mutual training, and collective success. Currently in research and development, we are transitioning toward a production environment.
Pay
The starting pay for this role in Washington State is up to $33.50/hour, with incremental raises based on tenure. Base pay information is based on market location.
Schedule
Shift: 4 days on, 10 hours per day (4/10s) – Wednesday through Saturday, 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
