About the role
Manage editorial content for Spectrum News, a network of over 30 hyper-local news and regional sports networks. Collaborate with multimedia journalists and photojournalists to review, critique, and edit stories before they air on TV. Listen to story pitches, approve the most promising ones, and support journalists as they shoot, write, and edit.
Responsibilities
- Review and edit stories for accuracy and clarity
- Support journalists in shooting, writing, and editing
- Listen to story pitches and approve promising ones
- Represent the community and national news in compelling newscasts
Requirements
- Experience: 8+ years in news or editing, 5+ years in management
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism, Management, or related field, or comparable television management work experience
- Technical Skills: Programming knowledge and understanding of digital media landscape
- Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to motivate co-workers
- Travel Ability: Open to travel to discover stories in your neighborhood
- Schedule: Flexible with different shifts

A comprehensive pay and benefits package includes competitive salaries ranging from $107,900 to $229,300, based on experience and qualifications. Additional forms of incentive-based compensation may be offered.

The base pay for this position generally is between $107,900.00 and $229,300.00. The actual compensation offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Schedule
Ability to work different shifts and be flexible with schedule changes.
