Managing Director, Healthcare
About the role
West Monroe is seeking a Healthcare Managing Director to join our Healthcare Practice. This leader will help grow our healthcare business by developing new client relationships, expanding existing accounts, and delivering business and technology consulting solutions for healthcare organizations, with a particular focus on providers and health systems.
Responsibilities
- Serve as an executive sponsor, engagement leader, and trusted advisor across a portfolio of healthcare payer, provider and health system clients.
- Lead complex business and technology transformation engagements, ensuring delivery excellence, client satisfaction, and measurable outcomes.
- Advise C-suite and senior healthcare leaders on operational improvement, care delivery transformation, digital enablement, and organizational strategy.
- Provide oversight of project scope, budgets, risks, quality, and stakeholder communications across multiple engagements.
- Analyze client challenges and recommend practical, innovative solutions that drive sustainable value.
- Leverage AI tools to accelerate analysis, synthesize complex information, and support data-driven recommendations for clients, exercising sound judgment in evaluating outputs.
- Apply AI technologies (e.g., generative AI, automation tools, data models) to enhance insights, improve delivery efficiency, and elevate the quality of client outcomes.
- Cultivate new client relationships and expand existing accounts within healthcare provider and health system organizations.
- Drive prospecting, networking, and market-facing activities to generate new opportunities and strengthen West Monroe’s presence in the healthcare market.
- Lead opportunity identification, proposal development, solution shaping, pricing, and contract negotiations.
- Build and maintain executive-level relationships across healthcare organizations, industry associations, and strategic partners.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute go-to-market strategies that drive practice growth.
- Help define and execute the strategic vision, growth objectives, and operating priorities of the Healthcare Practice.
- Develop and enhance methodologies, offerings, assets, and thought leadership that strengthen West Monroe’s market position.
- Mentor, coach, and develop consultants and practice leaders while fostering an inclusive, high-performing culture.
- Support recruiting, retention, succession planning, and leadership development initiatives.
- Contribute to practice financial management, including revenue growth, profitability, and resource planning.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
- 12+ years of consulting, healthcare, or professional services experience, including leadership of complex business and technology transformation programs.
- Deep understanding of healthcare payers, provider operations, health systems, care delivery models, and industry trends.
- Demonstrated success developing executive relationships, originating new business, and growing strategic client accounts.
- Proven ability to lead large-scale transformation initiatives involving operational, digital, technology, or organizational change.
- Strong executive communication, facilitation, and presentation skills, including experience engaging C-level stakeholders.
- Experience leading high-performing teams, mentoring future leaders, and driving practice growth.
- Experience integrating AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT) into day-to-day workflows to enhance productivity and insight generation, coupled with strong critical thinking to assess accuracy, mitigate bias, and ensure high-quality outputs.
- Able to travel 25 to 50%.

Individual salaries are determined by evaluating a variety of factors including geography, experience, skills, education, and internal equity. Employees in proximity of our Seattle, Washington DC, Los Angeles, New York, and San Francisco offices will have a geographic premium applied to this salary scale.

Employees will also receive unlimited flexible time off and ten paid holidays throughout the calendar year. Eligibility for ten weeks of paid parental leave will also be available upon hire date.
National $280,000—$330,000 USD
