Managing Director - Head, Insurance Corporate Banking, TD Securities

About the Role

The Managing Director, Investment Banking at TD Securities is responsible for developing and maintaining a portfolio of trusted advisor relationships at senior levels (CEO, CFO, Board) to drive mandates and repeat business.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain trusted advisor relationships with senior executives (CEO, CFO, Board) to secure mandates and repeat business.
• Target clients and revenue opportunities, balancing short- and long-term revenue priorities.
• Generate client-relevant transaction ideas by leveraging successful transaction expertise or creating new ideas.
• Coordinate business origination teams to win lead-managed mandates.
• Serve as primary client coverage contact with senior-level product knowledge for a select group of clients in a specific industry or product area.
• Lead major deals and transactions with key clients, generating senior-level revenue.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to the team, ensuring continuous development of industry knowledge and profile.
• Maintain awareness of relevant regional activities and issues (e.g., municipal, provincial, economic, political).
• Set the overall strategy for the industry group and oversee execution on senior deals to generate revenue.
• Guide and develop junior colleagues through training, mentorship, and leadership by example.
• Establish a respectful workplace environment that aligns with bank policies and guidelines.
• Direct, train, and develop staff to meet department objectives and achieve their full potential.

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree in Business (Accounting or Finance) or Mathematics/Economics.
• Series 7, 79, and 63 licenses.
• 7–10 years of related experience.
• Working knowledge of applicable areas within investment banking.
• Ability to provide guidance on all matters and respond to inquiries from business unit staff.
• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and establish priorities.
• Proficient in interpersonal communication (both oral and written) and ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff and management.

Pay

$350,000 - $400,000 USD base pay. The base pay offered may vary based on skills, experience, job-related knowledge, geographic location, and other business and organizational needs.
