About the role

The Relationship Manager, Business Banking, plays a crucial role in expanding Webster's business client base through strategic relationship management, new business development, and client retention. This position requires a minimum of 3+ years of specific Business Banking Relationship Management sales experience, including managing business relationships and 5+ years of managing relationships and banking experience.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to segment growth by executing against our segment strategy, focusing on new business relationships, deposit growth, loan production, and fee income.
  • Develop and maintain a network of business contacts, COIs, community leaders, and other referral sources to foster new business relationships and generate revenue.
  • Manage and grow the pipeline consistently with production expectations, collaborating with team members and cross-functional teams to deliver an excellent client experience.
  • Source opportunities and present effective credit proposals/memos for consideration, working with senior leadership and credit team to negotiate quality loans up to $2MM total credit exposure.
  • Identify and cross-sell value-added treasury management solutions to clients, ensuring operational integrity by complying with all regulations, policies, and procedures.

Requirements

  • Candidates must have at least 3+ years of specific Business Banking Relationship Management sales experience, developing and managing business relationships, and 5+ years of managing relationships and banking experience.
  • An understanding of different treasury management products & services, with the ability to identify TM needs and offer solutions.
  • Experience in business/commercial credit, financial analysis techniques, and lending policy, with the ability to independently package and present credit deals to senior leadership and credit team up to $2MM total credit exposure.
  • A proven track record of business development success, commercial loan origination, and Relationship Management skills.
  • Advanced degrees (Associates, Bachelor’s, and/or Master’s) preferred, but a High School diploma or GED is required. Extensive related professional experience is also considered.
  • Exceptional relationship management skills, including managing and growing a sales pipeline, fostering COI relationships, and developing new business relationships.
  • Commercial lending experience, with the ability to analyze, package, and present prospective financing opportunities to senior leadership and credit.
  • A strong knowledge of business banking, bank profitability, commercial lending, and treasury management products; a general understanding of operations (audit, compliance, fraud, loss, risk).
  • Exceptional business development skills and entrepreneurial business management orientation.

Pay

The estimated salary range for this position is $150,000.00 to $180,000.00 USD annually. Actual salary may vary up or down depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position is eligible for incentive compensation.
