About the role
The Manager of Workforce Training & Development leads organization-wide trainings and career pathways by coordinating, managing, and executing workforce development programs. This position proactively assesses organizational needs and works closely with internal stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Implement and oversee organization-wide training programs, including employee customer service, supervisory development, and any workforce and HR-related trainings.
- Collaborate with the management team to provide workforce development, planning, and support.
- Facilitate various staff training courses held with internal and external parties.
- Oversee the implementation of customer-facing training programs.
- Develop and launch career pathways and their curriculum for career tracks.
- Manage employee opinion and workforce-related surveys while assisting managers in implementing a results-oriented action plan.
- Develop staff and supervisory training for new hires and periodically throughout the year for all staff.
- Implement a train-the-trainer model with consultation from external vendors.
- Partner with community-based schools, colleges, and training programs that serve community residents.
- Assist with employee recognition programs and events in collaboration with the Human Resources Director, managers, and staff.
- Manage execution of all activities, projects, training, and deadlines related to workforce development and employee recognition.
- Provide functional direction to subordinates regarding SQMS disciplines.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- A minimum of 5+ years of training experience.
- Excellent customer service and cultural sensitivity.
- Strong interpersonal skills and effective communication, both written and oral.
- Advanced skills with Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) and other web-based applications.
- Ability to work with confidential information.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Fluency in Portuguese and/or Spanish highly desired.
This is a full-time, non-union position located at the Steamship Authority's Falmouth administrative office.
