Position Overview
The Training and Development Manager is expected to oversee the effective development, coordination, and presentation of training programs for plant personnel. Training programs will include, but are not limited to, safety, human resources, manufacturing methods, quality control, supervisory and leader development. The role will provide resources and tools to support plant personnel in providing a more structured learning environment, that positively impacts productivity, safety, quality, and staff engagement. The role will provide supervision for a small team. The qualified individual should have previous training experience in a manufacturing environment and will have the capacity to tailor training sessions and programs to meet the specific needs of various departments and levels within the company. The ability to design and evaluate effective training programs is essential.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Assess company-wide development needs to drive training initiatives and identify and arrange suitable training solutions for team members, conducting an annual training and development needs assessment.
- Identify the team members' current competency level and the competency standards established for their positions to determine their training needs.
- Work with the team members and operational department to meet the department's training needs.
- Plan, organize, and facilitate team member development and training sessions.
- Support the training and development of plant leaders through our front-line leader program; support the training of supervisory and leadership skills.
- Develop training and development programs and objectives to provide adequate training utilizing various media.
- Design training programs to meet the organization's strategic goals in terms of team member performance, productivity, quality, consistency, and customer satisfaction.
- Support training supervisory skills that promote employee satisfaction.
- Lead the organization, deployment, and communication of training programs across the plant to ensure compliance with BRC regulations.
- Manage data, reports, matrices, and other measures for indicators of progression toward the company's training goals and outcomes.
- Develop, review, and update SOPs.
- Coordinate and administer training grants.
- Oversee and develop the training and development team, organizing team roles and responsibilities to achieve department goals and to provide opportunities for developmental progression.
- Complete administrative tasks as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have the following:
Education And Experience
- Education: Bachelor's degree in business, organizational development, human resources, or a related field is required.
- Preferred Education: Certification in Training and Facilitation, Adult Learning, Instructional Design, and Coaching is preferred.
- Preferred Experience: Two or more years of experience in training in a manufacturing environment.
Competencies And Skills
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
- Understanding of adult training methods and techniques.
- Knowledge of instructional design.
- Strong training, facilitation, and coaching skills.
- Ability to design and implement effective training and development programs.
- Ability to evaluate training and development programs and measure results.
- Strong computer literacy, and intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Good collaborative abilities, and the ability to work well across all departments and levels of the organization.
- Ability to tailor effective training to all levels of the organization.
Physical Demands
- Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time in front of a computer.
- Ability to move about the facility on a regular basis to perform physical activities, such as, but not limited to, lifting items of up to 30 lbs. unassisted, bending, standing, climbing or walking.
