Manager, Website Content & Content Management
Brief Position Summary
The Manager, Website Content & Content Management owns how customer facing, non-product website content is structured, governed, and maintained within MSC's content management system (CMS). This role ensures website content is accurate, discoverable, scalable, and aligned with customer needs and business objectives. As the business owner of the CMS from a marketing perspective, this role provides direction for website content standards, governance, and lifecycle management, and partners with UX, IT, SEO, and cross-functional business teams to ensure the website functions as a reliable, high-quality content platform over time.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Owns the CMS from a marketing standpoint, ensuring the website effectively supports customer needs and business priorities
- Defines and maintains website content structures, standards, and governance that enable consistency and scalability
- Ensures CMS workflows and publishing practices support accurate and timely website content
- Establishes and enforces website content standards aligned to MSC brand, voice, UX, and accessibility requirements, serving as the reference point for content quality and enabling consistent publishing across the business
- Pairs with UX, SEO, and Digital teams to ensure website content supports clear customer journeys and strong discoverability
- Uses performance insights to improve website content effectiveness and inform ongoing optimization
- Owes ongoing website content quality through regular audits and lifecycle oversight
- Pairs with cross-functional business teams to recommend how existing website content can be leveraged to support business initiatives
- Advises on website content additions or enhancements needed to support customer needs
- Oversees website-based Knowledge Center content from a CMS and governance perspective, ensuring content is structured, discoverable, and maintained in alignment with website standards
- Supports Knowledge Center programs, including editorial, video, and supplier-driven initiatives, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives
- Manages website and CMS-related content budgets and resources
- Stays informed on website and CMS best practices to continuously enhance customer experience
- Performs all duties inherent in the role of an MSC manager, including hiring, performance management, coaching, and development of associates
- Fosters the MSC culture within the department and across the organization to support fulfillment of MSC's vision and unity of purpose
- Participates in special projects and performs additional duties as required
Qualifications
- What You Need:
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, Business, Communications or the equivalent experience is required
- Minimum of five years' experience managing customer-facing website content within and enterprise CMS environment is required
- Demonstrated experience with CMS governance, content structure, and cross-functional collaboration is required
- Prior people management experience required
- Bonus Points If You Have:
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Working knowledge of user experience principles, including journey mapping and persona development
- Experience using website analytics tools to evaluate performance and inform improvements
- Experience managing external partners, agencies, or vendors
- Demonstrated ability to use data and insights to drive decisions and optimize outcomes
- Adaptability and ability to navigate evolving priorities and business needs
- Other Requirements:
- A valid driver's license may be required
- Position requires up to 10% of travel
Compensation
Compensation starting at $84,800 - $133,320 depending on candidate location and experience.
