Manager, Total Rewards
General Description / Purpose
The Manager, Total Rewards is responsible for the leadership, administration, and operational execution of Loram's compensation, benefits, compliance, and Total Rewards programs. This role leads a team of Total Rewards professionals and ensures consistent delivery of programs, processes, controls, reporting, and employee support across the Total Rewards function. The position is responsible for the day-to-day management of Total Rewards operations, including compensation administration, benefits administration, compliance activities, workers' compensation and leave administration, and related operational processes. The role partners closely with Human Resources, Payroll, HRIS, Finance, and business leaders to support accurate, compliant, and effective program delivery. This position plays an integral role in maintaining the quality, consistency, and effectiveness of Total Rewards services in alignment with Loram's ICARE values.
Essential Job Functions
- Lead the administration and execution of compensation, benefits, compliance, workers' compensation, leave administration, and Total Rewards operational programs.
- Manage and develop the Total Rewards team, including establishing priorities, allocating work, monitoring performance, and supporting professional development.
- Ensure consistent administration of compensation and benefits programs, policies, and procedures across the organization.
- Oversee compensation administration activities, including market pricing, job evaluations, salary administration, incentive administration, compensation cycles, and related reporting.
- Oversee benefits administration processes, vendor coordination, employee support activities, and ongoing program execution.
- Direct compliance-related activities within the Total Rewards function, including reporting requirements, audits, documentation, and operational controls.
- Establish and maintain operational controls, process documentation, and audit practices to support compliance, data integrity, and operational effectiveness.
- Maintain service delivery, workload distribution, and operational performance across the Total Rewards function and implement improvements as needed.
- Partner with Payroll, HRIS, HR Business Partners, Finance, Legal, and business leaders to ensure effective execution of Total Rewards programs and initiatives.
- Analyze operational issues, identify root causes, and implement process improvements to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and scalability.
- Support annual planning activities, program renewals, budgeting processes, and other Total Rewards initiatives.
- Prepare and maintain reports, analyses, and documentation related to Total Rewards programs and operational performance.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or related field.
- Experience: 8+ years of progressive Human Resources, Compensation, Benefits, Total Rewards, or related experience. 3+ years of leadership experience, including responsibility for leading professional staff and operational processes.
- Experience administering compensation and benefits programs in a multi-location environment.
- Experience supporting audits, compliance activities, reporting, and process improvement initiatives.
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Strong knowledge of compensation and benefits administration practices and processes. Knowledge of HR compliance requirements applicable to Total Rewards programs. Strong leadership and team management skills, including the ability to coach, develop, and lead professional staff. Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Experience interpreting data and preparing reports and recommendations. Ability to establish operational processes, controls, and procedures. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and HR technology platforms.
- Additional Qualifications: 12+ years combination of education and experience in Human Resources, Compensation, Benefits, Total Rewards, or related disciplines may be considered in lieu of degree requirements.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS, LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
- CCP, CBP, CEBS, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification.
- Experience with Dayforce or similar HRIS platforms.
- Experience supporting international or multi-country Total Rewards programs.
- Experience in transportation, industrial, manufacturing, construction, or field-based workforce environments.

Working Conditions

- Ability to tolerate variable and sometimes challenging conditions during site visits or inspections of company equipment in a railroad environment.

Compensation
Loram determines compensation based on factors such as skills, competencies, education, and/or experience. Certain positions may be eligible for an annual bonus and paid time off in addition to base compensation. The pay range for this position is between $117,000-$175,500.
