Manager Surg Business
About the role
This position oversees the operation of the clinic/business department services, planning, developing, and implementing operational policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Collaborates in intra- and inter-departmental planning, problem-solving, and decision-making within the scope of their responsibility.
- Interprets and directs the implementation of departmental policies and procedures.
- Plans, selects, and devises operational best practices, work methods, procedures, work flow, and standards for quality and quantity of work, including staffing standards.
- Sets, directs, and reviews the work of subordinate supervisors/other personnel.
- Prepares formal answers to, and recommends adjustments to, grievances and disciplinary matters.
- Oversees business operations, including budget preparation, materials management, information systems, scheduling, billing, and personnel management.
- Maintains compliance with licensure, accreditation, and regulatory standards.
- Affirms educational and professional development programs for assigned area or program.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Advanced, broad-based knowledge of business practices, techniques of supervision, management, and leadership, effective communication skills (both oral and written), ability to operate computers and other office equipment, ability to see and read computer monitors and documents, ability to sit or stand for long periods of time to perform work on a computer, telephone, or other equipment, ability to lift and transport objects and office supplies, ability to bend, kneel, and reach.
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications include a bachelor's degree in a relevant field, and at least 5 years of experience in a supervisory or managerial role in a healthcare setting.
Skills
Knowledge of healthcare regulations and standards, proficiency in Microsoft Office, strong organizational and problem-solving skills, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and proficiency in using hospital information systems.

Pay
The hourly range for this position is $39.13 - $60.39, with actual hourly rates dependent upon experience.
Schedule
The scheduled weekly hours for this position are 40.
