Business Manager

About the role

This position is contingent upon contract award and can be remote. The Business Manager is responsible for forecasting, controlling, and reporting project costs, developing and providing project variances, and analyzing expenditures.

Responsibilities

• Forecasts, controls, and reports project costs needed within an organization.
• Develops and provides project variances, trending, and analysis of expenditures, and completion reports.
• Reviews project costs incurred by category, calculates future costs based on labor productivity, material price increases, subcontract, wage rates, and risk analysis.
• Solves complex and unique problems under general direction.
• Establishes priorities for the completion of assigned tasks.
• Interprets internal and external issues and develops best practices.
• Manages the delivery of functional objectives by providing leadership and direction to managers or professional staff.
• Develops and maintains business office processes/procedures.
• Ensures compliance with business office processes/procedures.
• Administers contracts and ensures their proper execution.
• Reviews and analyzes actual costs and forecasts.
• Performs cost performance analysis/review or prepares monthly PSR packages.
• Audits timesheets and resolves vendor/invoicing/accrual issues.
• Supports internal/external audits.
• Supports contract compliance and interpretation activities.
• Keeps Project Managers/Project Directors informed of business-related activities/issues.

Requirements

• Completion of an undergraduate degree and 7+ years of experience.
• Knowledge of FAR and DOW FAR requirements.
• Knowledge of DOW Financial Reporting requirements.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Prior managerial experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Skills required for this job are typically acquired through the completion of an undergraduate degree and 7+ years of experience.
